This website is devoted to the U.S. Army Veterans of the former Seventh Army Soldiers Chorus, or its present name, the USAREUR Soldiers Chorus, which has served as the U.S. Army Europe's command chorus from 1963 to the present time. Our chorus, which has been located in Mannheim, Stuttgart, Heidelberg and presently Schwetzingen, Germany, has consistently brought Americans and Europeans a message of peace and friendship, through music. For the past several years former members of the chorus have gathered together stateside, for reunions with old and new friends, and to perform for VA functions and community events. We invite you to participate in our reunion events and to join our roster, of over 500 present and prior chorus members. By keeping in touch with our Chorus friends and putting on concerts at our reunions we honor the memory of our Army Chorus days and our fallen comrades. Our unit was always about Duty, Honor and Country and dedicated to the principles of spreading international "Friendship though Music". Since 1995 several of us have gathered, at the home of varied chorus members throughout the nation, sharing our gift of song with Veteran and community groups alike, keeping our chorus tradition alive. What triggered this for us was the passing of an exceptional member, Wayne Preston Drake, our dear friend and admin specialist in the Chorus in 1995. For many years after several of us discharged from the service (in the mid 70s) Wayne kept us "in close touch" with one another, by staying in contact touch with everyone and sharing our news with the others through newsletters and rosters. Several of us had fallen out of personal touch with one another, as we lived our busy lives and tried to start careers and/or raise families. When he unexpectedly passed away, we recognized the need to continue his legacy .. and so we picked up his mantle, located more of our old chorus friends, and held our first (in many years) reunion.. in his memory, and started a new chorus tradition (annual reunions) which we continue to this day.
