First and foremost, we believe in the Triune God; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as the Creator of the universe and Savior of all who believe in Christ. We believe a literal 6 day, 24 hour creation and an earth only a few thousand years old is vital to Christianity (not salvation). We believe that science accurately supports what is clearly stated in Scripture and we accept these Scriptures as the inerrant Word of God. The following explains our beliefs:
II Peter 3:3-6 states "You must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, 'Where is this coming he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.' But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's Word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed." We are in these "last days" spoken of in this passage. Not until the middle of the 19th century was the idea of the past being the key to the present (uniformitarianism) really acceptable, yet today it is rarely questioned.
CIA presents material which shows how much of the scientific evidence today is based on the assumption that a world wide flood never occurred, exactly what II Peter predicts would happen--we "deliberately forgot."
Evolutionist believe that billions of years before man ever existed, death and disease prevailed, in fact, survival of the fittest is the very reason man came about. But, "God saw everything that he had made and, behold, it was very good(Genesis 1:31)." According to Scripture, not until man's fall did death enter the world. Genesis 3:14-19 tells us the extent of the curse on the earth as a result of man's sin. In v.17 the animals are cursed, plants in v. 18, and humans in v. 16,17,19 and ultimately, death reigns. Romans 5:12 tells us, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men."
Unfortunately, most Christians do not realize that evolution and the belief that the earth is millions of years old, destroys the Gospel of Christ if death entered the world before man. Simply put, if death came before man, Christ is a hoax because death has no meaning and therefore Christ's death is purposeless as well. Many Christians are blind to this aspect of evolution but the evolutionists give the impression that they know what they are doing. Dr. Richard Bozarth asserts that, "Christianity has fought, still fights, and will fight science to the desperate end over evolution, because evolution destroys utterly and finally the very reason Jesus' earthly life was supposedly made necessary. Destroy Adam and Eve and the original sin, and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the son of god. Take away the meaning of his death, if Jesus was not the redeemer who died for our sins, and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing!" (American Atheist 1978 p. 19).
Romans 6 tells us "the wages of sin is death" but if we stop there we must accept as Dr. Bozarth does above. But this verse continues by gloriously stating, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." How does this gift come about? By Jesus' meaningful death. (Hebrews 9:22).
Because of the above information, CIA examines both scientific and Biblical evidence to support a literal six day creation and a young earth. We must go back to the Bible to interpret science rather than letting science interpret the Bible. Most importantly, we must show the inerrancy of God's Word and the Gospel of Christ!
