Elk City Jaycees Officers and Their Duties

Chapter President-Regina Bohanon

Regina has been a Jaycee for .........

As president, she is the chief executive officer of our chapter. Her duties include: fulfilling the administrative and personnel management of the chapter; being responsible for implementing the directives of the board of directors;and serving on the State Jaycees board as well as regional and district boards. Christie is the chief public relations officer for the chapter. She delegates responsibility to her officers and chairmen for running the chapter programs and training. The president leads by example by being involved.

Individual Development Vice President (IDVP)- Linda Mott-Zaffino

Linda has been a Jaycee member for four years, although she has been an Elk City Jaycee for a year. Linda is married to a fellow Jaycee (the author of this web site as a matter of fact) She has three children who are all active in our chapter's Jaycee kids program. Linda has received the following awards: New officer of the quarter, Outstanding Local Officer Chairman of the Quarter, Jaycee of the Quarter, and an award for outstanding secretarial work through her local chapter. Linda also recently competed in a writing competition on the state level and won third place. Linda is also the editor of our award winning newsletter.

Linda is our membership advancement leader. Her duties as the IDVP include: providing training for the advancement of members and being responsible for planning programs that provide the proper atmosphere in which the members can derive maximum benefits out of their membership. The IDVP communicates the individual member's training needs to the chapter president, and helps promote the chapter and the member's image in the community.

Community Development Vice President (CDVP)- Penny Haynes

Penny has been a Jaycee for ...

Penny is our leader of community advancement. As the CDVP her duties include: identifying the needs of the community; deciding which needs the chapter can help to fulfill and planning a course of action to satisfy those needs. The CDVP asserts community needs to the chapter president and is also responsible for promoting the image of both the chapter and the individual members in the community.

Management Development Vice President (MDVP)- Jeff Zaffino

This is Jeff's first year as a Jaycee. He (or should I say I am) is responsible for the Elk City Jaycee Web site, along with the help and support of my wife, from authoring all it's content to finding the server. I am married to Linda Mott-Zaffino (you read about her already). Jeff has won the following awards on the state level: the first timers award (1st place), the prestigious Brownfield Award (1st place!), leadership skills (1st place), novice speak-up (1st place), local officer of the term,and the Mungenast Family Award (1st place). I am only bragging a little, actually I am just very proud of my achievements.

The duties of the MDVP include keeping up with what's going on; who is doing it; and ensuring that each member gets the most out of their Jaycee membership through involvement. The MDVP tracks the "health" of the chapter by knowing about participation and tracking members advancement through activation programs, such as: Springboard, Degrees of Jaycees, and Leadership Academy. The MDVP provides members with enough information to get the maximum benefit out of being a Jaycee.

Membership Vice President (MemVp)-Annise Cain

Annise has been a Jaycee for almost a year. She is married to a fellow Jaycee and has two children that are active in our chapter's Jaycee kids program, as well as the chapter's Shooting Education Program. Annise has received the following awards (all on the State level): Jaycee of the Quarter,the prestigious Brownfield Award,Local Officer of the Term First-Timer award, the Family award,the Faith in god award twice! and the Leadership skills award both level 1 and level 2.

Annise is our leader of membership activity. Duties of the MemVP include: membership renewals;.planning manpower for the chapter's projects; scheduling M-nights throughout the year; directing the chapters new member recruiting; and ensuring that all new Jaycees are immediately included in chapter activities.

Treasurer- Denetha Haas

Denetha has been a Jaycee for...

As our treasurer his duties include: keeping the financial records for the chapter and being responsible for the financial stability of the chapter. The treasurer also oversees the dues billing process.

Secretary- Linda Mott-Zaffino

Linda is also our IDVP and you can check out her Bio above

As Secreatry, Mona's responsibilities include:taking care of the written documents of chapter activities, including: minutes, agendas, newsletters and correspondence. The secretary is also responsible for maintaining the membership rooster.

As you can see, there are many opportunities to serve in a leadership capacity. In addition to the above officers, there are many other leadership and chairperson positions available throughout the year.
