Whereas: The Office of Personnel Management, unethically conspires to deprive certain federal law enforcement officer's their rightful pension benefits under Title 5 of the United States Code; and

Whereas: Senators Mikulski, Sarbanes, Leahy and Campbell have proposed before the United States Senate, a bill known as S 819, the "Law Enforcement Officer's Equity Act" that proposes to correct the injustice perpetrated against those federal law enforcement officer's who has been deprived their rightful pension benefits; and

Whereas: Representatives Filner and McHugh have proposed before the United States House of Representatives, a bill, known as H.R. 2442, the "Law Enforcement Officer's Equity Act" that proposes to correct the injustice perpetrated against those federal law enforcement officer's who has been deprived their rightful pension benefits.

Now therefore be it resolved: That the Fraternal Order of Police, Department of Veterans Affairs Law Enforcement Officers Lodge (Illinois #3F) does hereby proclaim its support for the "Law Enforcement Officer's Equity Act" and encourages the United States Congress to swiftly enact this rightful legislation.

Resolved this 30th day of June, in the year 2003 by the Executive Board of the Fraternal Order of Police, Department of Veterans Affairs Law Enforcement Officers Lodge (Illinois #3F), in Chicago, Illinois.
