The Heydon Support FundUPDATE: 7/01/07 Heydon is now do well. He is back to his old happy self, able to walk and even do short 'gallops'. Not too bad for a dog with two artificial back legs and a missing piece of a front foot! The kind support of all you wonderful donors, both financially and spiritually, is greatly appreciated! A member of LHS's Gordon Setter, Heydon, was struck by a truck on Sunday, Oct.30 05, while attempting to enter his vehicle to go to Lincoln HS. Heydon sustained severe injuries to his legs. After having multiple surgeries to rebuild his hind legs, Heydon is in the process of a slow, but expected successful recovery. The surgeon has suggested Heydon will be able to walk by sometime inJanuary. We are asking for your prayers and healing thoughts for Heydon at this time. Below is a photo of Heydon in recovery. In the future we plan to post updates on Heydons recovery.
An article about Heydon has been published in the 12/29/05 issue of the Rose Garden Resident. Click here to go to the Resident web site. Heydon is recoverng, thanks to all the kind thoughts, prayers, generousity from LHS members and concerned animal friend contributers alike and the amazing surgical skill and care of Dr. Staat at Menlo Parks VSA hospital. Heydon took his first tentative steps ( about 10) on Christmas Eve, and has been slowly adding distance to his walks ever since. He is now enjoying an assited evening walk at Lincoln on a daily basis to strengthen his legs. It is hoped that he will be at his old bouncy -self by the time summer rolls around. The photos below are our way of saying a heart-felt 'thank you' to everyone to is helping Heydon in his recovery.
