Beyond Roe v Wade

1973 was the year that the United States Supreme Court ruled in Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton that a woman could have an abortion for any reason whatsoever up to her day of delivery.  That is it in a nutshell.  Planned Parenthood and the rest of the anti-life crowd must have thought they had won a million dollars and in fact they had.  Abortion doctors and clinics are nothing but a factory for the killing of babies, abortion now became another method for birth control.

Margaret Sanger would have loved this but she had died before the decision.  Her hopes and dreams to eliminate everyone who did not belong to her plan for  the ideal world was now in place but it was another generation who would enjoy the evil fruits of this victory.

The first victim of Roe v Wade was the developing baby.  Every year there are over one million five hundred thousand deaths of our  most vulnerable humans caused by abortion.

There are other victims;  The mothers.  Immediately after an abortion, many women report a feeling of relief ... which is all abortionists want you to hear.  What you won't hear of is the guilt and depression that frequently follows.  A  national poll found that at least 56% of women experience a sense of guilt over their decision, though the pollster himself
acknowledged that many women will not even admit having had an abortion. [1]

A five-year study shows that 25% of women who have had abortions sought out psychiatric
care, versus just 3% of women who have not had abortions. [2] Further, numerous studies reveal that women  who have had an abortion experience a high incidence of depression,
stress, low self esteem, suicidal feelings and substance abuse. [3] It is not uncommon for women to actually commit suicide months or years after an abortion.

Then there are the fathers.  Fathers are instinctively programmed not only to procreate but to also provide for and protect their family.  When an abortion takes place, a man inherently knows that he has failed in some very crucial areas of his life, areas that often define him as a success or failure in society.

The common symptom that most every man has after abortion is anger, and he will usually act on that anger in a way that is harmful to him or someone around him.

Other symptoms include: sleeplessness, panic attacks, poor coping skills, flashbacks, nightmares, self-imposed isolation, or even suicidal tendencies.  The fortunate men are those who recognize the reason behind their downward spiral and take the crucial step to seek help.

Sometimes men build a wall of denial and ignore their feelings for months or even years.  As a result, he may fall victim to a common occurrence called "hooking" . That is when he sees or experiences something that consciously or subconsciously reminds him of the abortion and then he reacts with anger or some other harmful emotion.  This outburst may be directed at the person or event that reminds him of his loss; the woman who aborted his baby,  the abortionist or anyone near him.   Alcohol and drug addiction usually follow.

Following the mother and the father there are the immediate and extended families.  A brother or a sister who is denied  a companion to share their lives with, grandparents who are denied their  love and help for the aborted baby.  Aunts,  uncles, future friends ,
neighbors and spouses.  This loss even affects society who will lose someone who may have contributed to the betterment of the town, city, nation or world.  Last but not least God is grieved because He has sent this child into the world for a purpose.  Yes,  His purpose will still be accomplished but in way which surely will be a cursing instead of a blessing.

In the thirty years since abortion, people have hardened their hearts to the evil  of abortion.  We all remember the interview with Monica Lewinsky, the woman who had an affair with President Bill Clinton.  During her interview she stated casually that she'd had an abortion while dating a Pentagon official.  Like the rest of her conduct, it was nothing she was ashamed of.

She is not alone in her views concerning abortion.  Because the government says it is legal many women  have had multiple abortions and use it  as a birth control option.  Many others are are not educated to the fact that what they are aborting is a human being so they listen to the advice of friends who buy into the notion that abortion is normal and good.

Society has become so accustomed to abortion that even its leaders have become hardened. During their eight years in office former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore were openly supportive of abortion on demand. They continue that view today.

Dr. J.C. Wilke of Life Institues recalled an interview he had with Former U.S. Senator John Glenn, a hero during World War 11 and  the first man in space.  Glenn was given all of the facts about abortion after he was elected to the senate.  He even complimented Dr. Wilke  on the acuracy of his information but then added, "But we still don't know when human life begins."

During his time in the U.S.  Senate Glenn scored a 100% pro-abortion, anti-life and anti-family voting record.  He supported denying a ban on partial birth abortions.  Dr. Wilke lamented, "He later made the headlines by going back into space after his retirement but in the eyes of pro-life people, this man who once was a hero should hang his head in shame, for on his consicience lies the blood of millions of innocent babies whose slaughter he helped to maintain".
