Speaker: EMILY AMBROSE “Creative Non Fiction”




Emily Ambrose recently graduated from Wells College, a small liberal arts school in Upstate New York, 
claiming among other graduates Edith Gaylord of the Oklahoma Gaylord family and Pleasant Rowland, 
the creator of Barbie and the American Girl Dolls.

Emily will be flying in from Syracuse, NY to speak on “Creative Non-Fiction” and to share with us 
some of her autobiographical writings about her “sometimes unconventional upbringing and childhood 
in New England.” 

She wrote these after studying with The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies that has pioneered 
“creative non fiction” studies  www.salt.edu/news A New Englander by both birth and inclination, 
she now resides in Central New York, where she enjoys writing, working for the posh Inns of Aurora, 
and being a generally good-natured roustabout.
