Attendance at group orientation is generally the first step for individuals interested in applying for VESID services. When an individual calls to apply for VESID services, he or she is advised regarding the group orientation schedule - (see list below.)

No appointment is necessary to attend group orientation at the Albany - 80 Wolf Road location. However, for group orientation at locations other than 80 Wolf Road, individuals must call to schedule an appointment. In either case, individuals who need special accommodations must advise us in advance, so arrangements can be made.

At group orientation, an overview of VESID services is presented, and each participant receives a packet including the VESID application forms and booklets, and appropriate medical report forms. To complete the VESID application process, individuals need to submit a completed VESID application form along with sufficient documentation of disability. Service providers should feel free to assist individuals with disabilities with the VESID application process, including group orientation.
